Ukraine: Rising tensions between Russia and the United States

Rising tensions between the world's two major powers are once again commonplace in the world media.  The current tensions are said to be more worrying than The Cold War situation of the past.

Over the past few years, relations between the United States and Russia have been strained, with tensions escalating, sanctions on Russia, and diplomatic tensions escalating, but now things have become much tenser.

The two powers are blaming each other.  This series is getting longer day by day.  Recently, US President Joe Biden accused Russia of carrying out cyber-attacks on the United States and Russia had interfered in the last election and the United States consider Russia's nefarious efforts an attack on itself.  But Russia has denied the allegations.

It should be noted that in the presidential election campaign of Hillary Clinton and Trump, Hillary Clinton had also accused Russian hackers of stealing data from the computers of the Democratic Party and hacking them.  For the past eight to 10 years, however, the United States has imposed a series of economic sanctions on Russia that continue, while Russia's economy continues to deteriorate.

Protests against Russian President Vladimir Putin is gaining momentum.  The Russian people are divided in support of opposition leader Alex Navalny, who is still in Russian custody.  In addition, the problems of Russia and Ukraine are getting worse.

Russia has recently resumed military exercises near the Ukrainian border.  The Ukrainian president has again called on the United States and the European Union to make Ukraine a member of the NATO alliance.

The United States and Europe are deeply concerned about Ukraine.  In a Ukrainian province of Crimea, there is a majority of Russian-speakers who want to join Russia. Ukraine does not approve of this and is seeking help from the West.

US President Biden had recently invited Russian President Vladimir Putin for a one-on-one meeting.  Russia and other diplomatic circles were surprised by the US invitation.  It was not long before US President Biden decided to impose more sanctions on Russia the next day after ten Russian diplomats had been deported by the United States.

In such a situation, Russia also expelled American diplomats from Russia.  Thus, the bitterness between the two countries has further increased.  These tensions and bitterness have led the Kremlin to think that Russia should now look for alternatives to the United States and that its focus should be on China or on improving relations with some other countries.  To balance the distance.  It seems that soon Russia will have to distance itself from the United States.

The US policy of prolonging its differences with Russia has been going on for some time, but it has accelerated since President Joe Biden came to the White House.  Diplomats are also surprised that the United States has so far considered Russia as its number one rival and enemy, while observers believe that China is the real rival and enemy of the United States, but the United States have never counted China on the list.  The bar has been trying to prove that Russia is its rival.

Russia's defense adviser, Andrei Karimov, said in a statement that tensions between Russia and the United States could not be described as "Cold War conditions" but that they were worse and more worrying.  Both countries need to consider easing tensions immediately, otherwise, the situation could go in any direction.

Western observers say it would be more appropriate for Russian and US presidents to talk about real issues rather than assumptions, but the question is who will take the initiative.  U.S. observer Ann Roy says if the two presidents immediately talk about issues that are agreed upon in the same way as the Salt The agreement, the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, other countries could also cooperate with the two major powers.  Are The US president's agenda is human rights and democracy, which Russia will not pursue further.

It should be noted that the recent stormy visit of the Russian Foreign Minister, in which he also visited India, Pakistan, and some countries in the Middle East is part of a new strategy of Russia on which Russia has started work rapidly.

Russia re-entered world affairs in 2015 with a military intervention in Syria.  Russia has suffered a major setback on the world stage since the 1990s, but despite being separated from Russia by 15 states, Russia is still the world's largest country.  The balance of power is almost the same as that of the United States, so President Putin considers Russia's participation in world politics necessary.

In other words, Russia does not want to leave the field open to the United States.  That is why the United States want to re-establish another important front in the world and maintain the credibility of their global leadership, which has been severely damaged in four years by former President Donald Trump.  On the one hand, President Joe Biden has kept Russia busy, and on the other, a two-day global conference on the environment has been announced, attended by more than 40 heads of state, hosted by the United States. Wants to restore global reputation.

The fact is that at the moment all of China's policies come from other parts of the world, such as China, which has come a long way in the fields of electric car manufacturing and solar energy.  The country is reducing its use of natural coal and adopting a policy to control greenhouse gases.

Reducing pollution is a major issue in the global environment.  US President Joe Biden has raised the banner of human rights democracy on the one hand and global environmental reform on the other.  The Chinese president has announced that he is attending the conference.

Similarly, other heads of state will also attend this global conference.  So far, there has been no indication from Russia that Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the conference.  President Putin is also expected to attend the conference.  The United States, China, India and Brazil is at the top of the list in terms of global pollution and pollution.  A recent conference of scientists has expressed deep concern over the state of the global environment.  Scientists say that the speed and volume of the problem are not being rectified and we are far behind.

The problems of global warming, floods, storms, rains, and droughts are increasing in the world.  The Himalayan glaciers, glaciers on the local Arctic poles, and Greenland is also slowly melting, and scientists and experts have long warned that sea levels are slowly rising.  Islands and most coastal cities are at risk.

In Asia and Africa, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka may also be at risk.  Most countries in the world are now becoming more sensitive to the global environmental problem and trying to somehow control pollution.  The recent Environment Conference in the United States could yield positive results.
