The Vatican City, the only country in the world where childbirth is prohibited!
Vatican City is an independent state located inside the Italian city of
Rome. It is the smallest independent country in the world in terms of
population and area. The total population is only 799, of which 450 are
citizens and 349 are diplomatic staff or working foreigners. The total area is
less than half a kilometer or 0.44 kilometers. Although not officially
autonomous, the Holy See has autonomy. It is, in fact, the state of a Christian
or religious monarchy, religiously ruled by the Bishop of Rome and the head of the
Roman Catholic Church, the Pope.
The smallest state in the world is surrounded by walls on
almost all four sides. The head of state is the Pope of Rome. The official
languages are Italian, French, and Latin. The currency here is the euro.
Vatican City has formal diplomatic relations with 174 countries. Most of
them live in Rome outside Vatican City. Pakistan also has good
relations with Vatican City. There are Pakistani diplomats there. The Vatican city is not a member of the United Nations but an observer.
Basic facilities: Italy provides electricity, telephone, and
other services to Vatican City. The internal security of the state is the
responsibility of the Swiss Guards Corps, for which the same standards have
been set for the Swiss Army Service. External defense against foreign enemies
is the responsibility of the Italian government. It is such a small country
that there is no public transport, no railway station, and no airport. There are
a few short highways to get in and out of the country. Similarly, this country
can be crossed from one end to the other in fifteen to twenty minutes on foot.
Economic Situation of Vatican City
Although a very small country, its per capita income is a
staggering 21,198. In that sense, it is the 18th richest economic state in the
world. It has its own postal service, telephone system, and electricity system
in collaboration with the bank, radio station, pharmacy, and Italy. The revenue
from tourism depends on the entrance fee to the museums and the revenue from
publications.
Vatican City emerged as a new state
According to a study in this regard, during the last 90
years, there have been two cases of childbirth in this country, one when the Vatican city emerged as a new state on June 19, 1929, a few days later an employee of the Vatican gave birth to a baby boy named Pio by the then pope.
Another case came to light in January 2016 when a woman claimed to have given
birth to a baby boy at the Vatican. So, research has shown that this baby was
not born in the Vatican, but in the neighboring country Italy. So he was sent
to Rome for a year with accommodation and the child was later granted Italian
citizenship.
